You are in the Restaurant and Pizzeria Antica Sacrestia, antique and typical of the City of Venice.

Memories go back hundreds of years when the Priests of the Church of S. Giovanni Novo (now de-consecrated) adjacent to the restaurant, prepared meals for the poors.

During the previous management over the last thirty years it became famous for the ultimate pizza but perhaps also neglecting the traditional cuisine which distinguishes a restaurant.

The present proprietor Pino Calliandro, while always giving special attention to the pizza, has revitalized the cuisine of the restaurant, giving back favourite dishes to the venetians which are also much appreciated by other guests who find and taste the history and magic of Venice.

Simple things, but excelling in their perfection.

The fish, above all, simply grilled or cooked by our expert Chefs in delicious sauces are not to be missed.

Good meat dishes using authentic spices and presented in a way which reminds us of old medieval recipes springing from the necessity of that period of preserving food without the benefit of refrigeration.

Foods carefully prepared by those who love classic history and served with simplicity and every personal attention.

Hospitality is sacred: we look to satisfy every need of our clients, irrespective of where they come from, a place where Venetians and Tourists alike can savour the local atmosphere.

The Antica Sacrestia is situated in an area full of history between Piazza S. Marco and the Rialto Bridge. The prices, in respect of the quality, are extremely restricted, denying the misconception that Venetian Cuisine carries a reputation for high prices.
